Car-less Long Island's 3rd Annual Bike-to-Work Parade!!

On April 28, 2018 Car-less Long Island held it's 3rd Annual Bike-to-Work Parade. It was a pleasant overcast morning and about 50 people attended. About half of the participants rode on the main parade route and about half chose the walking route. Newsday covered it with and posted this wonderful video of it here. The Long Island Herald and Long Island Business News also covered it.
We awarded prizes for the best bikes and costumes. For the second year in a row, Ed Giron won the grand prize for his incredible "motorcycle cop" bike float! (Throughout the parade I kept catching him in my peripheral vision and mistaking him for one of our police escorts.) Barry Germond won the second place prize for his fuzzy-top-hat caped dog outfit. Kelly Schmidt won third place for her Hippie-Chick keyboardist biker. Keep up the good work, cyclists!
